Installing Olive on Linux

Olive is available through many channels on various distributions of GNU/Linux.

Ubuntu 18.04/Linux Mint 19 and later

Olive can be installed with the following commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:olive-editor/olive-editor
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install olive-editor


Olive is available as a Snap on the Snap Store:
sudo snap install --edge olive-editor


Olive is available as an AppImage on GitHub.


These packages aren't maintained by Olive Team. If you have issues, please contact the package maintainer.


Olive is available on Arch from the Arch User Repository.


Olive is available as a Flatpak on Flathub.

Void Linux

On Void Linux, Olive can be installed with the following command:
sudo xbps-install olive


Olive is available through Debian packages.

Your distro not listed here?

At the moment, we only officially support a few distros. You may have to compile from source.
